Gas & Oil royalty class action settlement is granted preliminary approval in federal court.

The litigation team consisting of Rachel Schulman, Esq. PLLC, The Law Office of Francis P. Karam, the Clark Law Firm, PLC, and Mazzoni Karam Petorak & Valvano joined forces with competing plaintiffs’ firms in reaching a global settlement with Chesapeake Appalachia, L.L.C., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, on behalf of a class of Pennsylvania landowners seeking redress for alleged underpayment of royalties on oil and gas leases.  This Amended Class Action Settlement Agreement has achieved preliminary approval in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  A Final Approval Hearing is set for February 2, 2016.
